Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Model Context Protocol (MCP)?

MCP is an open standard that enables AI models to securely access external tools and data sources. Axis provides managed MCP servers that you can plug directly into Claude Desktop, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client.

What servers are available?

We currently offer four production servers: Stock & News Aggregator (multi-source financial news), Finance Extended (quotes, earnings, forex, crypto, economic indicators), Company Intelligence (corporate profiles, contacts, enrichment), and Web Scraper (structured content extraction from any URL). More are on the way.

Is there a free tier?

Yes. Every account gets 500 free requests per month across all servers with no credit card required. When you need more, upgrade to Pro for unlimited access at $0.005 per request.

How does Pro billing work?

Pro is pay-as-you-go at $0.005 per successful tool call. Usage is tracked in real-time on your dashboard and billed monthly via Stripe. No minimum commitment — cancel anytime.

Where does the data come from?

Each server aggregates data from multiple specialized providers to ensure coverage and accuracy. We handle all vendor relationships, rate limits, and failover so you don't have to.

Can I use Axis keys across multiple agents?

Yes! A single Axis API key works across all servers and can be used in multiple agents simultaneously — locally via Claude Desktop, in Cursor, or in your custom Python/Node.js orchestration.

What happens if I hit a rate limit?

Standard accounts have generous rate limits designed for production agent loops. If you need massive parallel throughput, our Edge Gateway scales on Enterprise plans — contact us for details.
